Grand Canyon Railway Video Production

21. August 2010

We spent some time in Arizona recently, and did some video production work for Grand Canyon Railway. Our video production crew was there to provide some stunning shots to go with their existing video portfolio. We put together some highlights from the job and combined it with some cool music provided by Mitch Curinga.

The Grand Canyon Railway is a beautiful and fun way to experience the Grand Canyon area. The train was the lifeline to Grand Canyon National Park in the early 20th century. It was the railroad, along with the Fred Harvey Company, that commissioned and built most of the historic structures that still exist along the South Rim. The historic train almost faded into history itself when passenger service to Grand Canyon National Park stopped in 1968 as train travel gave way to the popularity of automobile travel. But like any legend it refused to die. As fate would have it, Grand Canyon Railway was reborn in 1989 when entrepreneurs brought the Grand Canyon's train back to life. Today, the Railway carries well over 200,000 people by rail to the canyon each year. Visit the Grand Canyon Railway website for additional information.

Video Production in Mesquite Nevada

30. May 2010

We went to Mesquite Nevada in May to shoot a promotional video showing all the great things there are to do there.  While we were there, the Desert Valley Times wrote an article about what we where doing.  The article explains how Bryan Dangerfield saw what a great job we did on the Elko Promotional video and wanted one for Mesquite.  A couple of interesting quotes from Bryan in the article are:

"The shots were just amazing, especially the ones from the air," he said.  "I wondered how they could afford that kind of aerial photography - I know what helicopter times cost."

"They can put together films that look far more expensive than they are," said Dangerfield.

The shoot went great.  A few behind the scenes pictures are included below.  To see some of the great aerial video we got be sure see the Cool Shots - Mesquite blog entry.  The final promotional video will be posted in our tourism portfolio once it has been completed.

Man Expo

2. May 2010

The inaugural Man Expo took place at the end of April in the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy UT. We were there to cover the activities and produce a promotional video of the event which you can see HERE.

The expo was a lot of fun and included cars that you could smash with a sledge hammer, mechanical bull riding, jousting, body builders, an MMA ring with demonstration fights, arm wrestling contest, and much more. They also had an indoor skate park. We were able to get our helicopters up over the skate park to film some of the action (you can see it in the video). The first night was wrapped up with a concert by Skid Row.

We covered the expo and we also had a booth there. We decked the booth in retro camera equipment from the Utah Film Commission and showed off a few helicopters along with our new camera mount. The show was great for us and we met a lot people and good business contact.

The picture below shows the booth with one of our helicopters on top of the new camera mount.
